Rancho Cordova, CA · Telehealth Across California

Therapy for the version of you that got lost holding it all together.

You're keeping the outside of your life together and feeling worn thin on the inside. This is therapy for finding your way back to who you are, underneath the people-pleasing and the self-doubt.

It is a no-pressure conversation to see if we are a good fit.

A solo practice in Sacramento Metro East and across California.

Working Premise

“Most of the people I see are managing the outside of their lives well, and feeling stretched thin underneath all of it.”

Amanda McBee, LMFT

What I work on

Four shapes of the same exhaustion.

01

Anxiety

The worry that doesn't turn off. Racing thoughts, sleep that won't come, the low dread that something is about to give.

02

Codependency & people-pleasing

Over-functioning, anticipating everyone's moods, and the long cost of staying agreeable until you've lost track of what you want.

03

Boundaries & family-of-origin patterns

The dynamics that keep repeating in your marriage, your family, and with your own parents.

04

Parents under pressure

Anxiety, resentment, and the quiet sense that you lost yourself somewhere in the family schedule.

Different shapes of the same work, often together in the same person.

The Approach

Not about fixing you. You were never broken.

So much of what feels like a personal failing is really an old, learned strategy that worked once and outstayed its welcome. The work is figuring out which strategies still fit you, and which ones you can finally set down.

Sessions look closer to real conversation than to a technique-first protocol. We move at a pace that respects how much you're already carrying, look at the patterns underneath the day-to-day stress, and build something steadier from the inside.

How it works

A first step that asks very little of you.

A 15-minute call

We talk by phone. No intake forms, no prep, just a chance to hear what's going on and see whether we're a fit.

We find a rhythm

If it feels like a good match, we schedule a first session and set a cadence that works around your life.

The real work

Week by week, we make sense of the patterns underneath. It's slow on purpose, and steady, building something that holds.

Common questions

A few things people often ask.

How much is a session?

A 50-minute session is $170. I am out of network with insurance and can provide a monthly superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A sliding scale is available, so please ask.

Do you offer telehealth across California?

Yes. I see clients by secure video anywhere in California, and in person at my Rancho Cordova office for those nearby.

What is a first session like?

The first session is a chance to talk through what brought you in and what you are hoping for, at your pace. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to. We will figure out together whether we are a good fit.

Take the first step

My clients come in not knowing what they want or need. They leave with clarity about both.

If that's close to where you are, the first conversation is fifteen minutes, free, and no paperwork. We talk about what's going on for you, what you're hoping for, and whether we're a good fit. That's all.
